Have you ever aimed to win a tender but your design was still in progress as the tender’s deadline got closer?
It was like when we worked on the Mandiri Financial Center project for Alien DC. There were a lot of adjustments because the design wasn’t fixed yet. Plus, the timeline was very rigid (more than our year-end report).
It seemed impossible to meet their needs before day 7, but.. we trust our art director when he said he had a plan to fix this situation.
Mandiri Financial Center is planned to be a one stop hub for office and commerce. Inspired by that vision, Alien DC wanted to make an innovative, futuristic design that can enhance productivity and support long-term collaborations.
It became more challenging since the government recently are prioritizing environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. That’s what made the design changed frequently.
We couldn’t just wait until the design finished. To tackle this, we proactively built 3D rendering starting from areas needing the least adjustment like entourage and existing. It helped us worked faster and had minor revisions.
Working with Alien DC made us realized that key to win every architecture tender is how we manage to stay creative in a tight deadline.
Instead of waiting updated brief and doing nothing, we used the spare time for exploring the visual possibilities (and best coffee in town). It helped us able to make the fittest visual that well presenting the building innovation.
The results of our exploration led the audience to analyze better the project realization. With vivid color and night mood alternative we added, both highlighted the facades, landscaping, and vibrant commercial activities.
After 7 days of hard work, it all paid off when we heard that our visuals could help Alien DC won Mandiri Financial Center Tender. They even already started the groundbreaking!
